How Can You Cleanse and Detoxify?

Studies have shown that simple practices like eating a higher proportion of organic foods, and choosing less toxic household cleaners and beauty products can make a significant difference for the individual…even while we do have a lot of work to do to clean up our planet.

While you can never say precisely what diseases you may have prevented by detoxification and cleansing, one thing is for sure. It is much easier to do this work while you are relatively healthy and have the time, money and energy to devote to cleansing -- as opposed to being up against the wall and sick. Put another way, it takes less effort to shore up the levy against rising waters than it does to rebuild a flooded town.

It is important to have professional guidance and support when cleansing. For example, cleansing practices like water fasting without appropriate nutritional support can be quite taxing on the body, and even prove detrimental to your health.

In my practice, I can help you with the cleansing and detoxification process in are a number of ways. Together we can:

  • Help you identify and reduce the major sources of toxin intake in your daily life. The most effective way to begin detox is always to first stop taking toxins in, as best you can, and then do your best to get rid of the toxins already in your body.

  • Complete a basic toxin inventory to catalogue your known occupational and lifestyle exposures, and roughly categorize the toxins you might choose to address.

  • Review ways to shop for and prepare food that can decrease the level of toxins in your diet. There are many easy to make changes that can make a big difference in how you feel!

  • Check on the functioning of your digestive system, with the goal of reducing the level of internal metabolic toxins created by poor digestion.

  • Teach you self-care routines that will assist your body's natural processing and release of toxins.

  • Provide you with safe, tested natural and herbal materials and routines for basic internal cleansing and detoxification.

  • Teach you how to shift into a diet that naturally supports and promotes detoxification.

  • If you need deeper cleansing, I can provide you with specific detoxification protocols, reading materials to help you understand the work you need to do and why, and/or outside referrals, as indicated.

A healthy intake of nutrients that support the detoxification process is an essential part of successful cleansing and health maintenance.
